Harrogate Building Surveying, (HBS) was launched by Paul Halliday in 2022. Paul is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 35 years construction-based experience. Paul started out as an Apprentice Plumber and Heating Engineer gaining master craftsman status. Paul then went to university to gain a BSc (Hons) Building Surveying classification in 1998 and became a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, (RICS) in 2004.  Paul now actively sits on the RICS training board as an assessor for future surveyors.

Paul has worked for both large international and smaller regional Building Surveying Consultancy’s throughout his career gaining a full spectrum of Building Surveying and varying sector expertise.

Paul’s larger focus has been residential/commercial building surveys, planned preventative maintenance, schedules, defect appraisal and project/contract administration. Paul also has in depth knowledge of fire integrity, Equality Act, party wall matters and conservation/historic buildings.
